Here at Wesley Place, we are committed to promoting a healthy work environment for our tenant-customers, both in the office and at home.

From creating a dedicated workspace to taking regular breaks here are some tips to prioritise wellness while working from home.

Create a dedicated workspace
Separating your work and home life can be difficult when working remotely to it’s important to create a physical and mental boundary between your professional and personal life. If possible, try setting up a dedicated workspace away from your bedroom where you can feel productive and switch-off at the end of the day.

Maintain a routine
While it can be tempting to stay in your pyjamas all day, the simple act of changing clothes can serve as a signal to get up and start your day. Having a regular schedule whether it be going for a walk to get your morning coffee or clocking off at 5pm to make dinner, having a routine is an important part of staying motivated and focussed throughout the day.

Prioritise your health
Eating well, sleeping well and exercising are the foundations of good health. While it may be tempting to stay up late and order take-out every-day, it’s important to prioritise your health and maintain healthy habits, especially when working from home.

Take regular breaks
Like any working environment, it is important to take the occasional break to let your brain and body relax. Short breaks such as a walk at lunchtime will help you refocus on your work tasks, ultimately supporting your productivity and mental health.

Stay connected
Missing your colleagues and cross-desk banter in the office? There are so many ways to stay connected with your co-workers. Whether it’s a walking meeting over the phone or after-work drinks via Zoom, staying in contact with your work-mates can help you feel more connected while working from home.
